Walter E Deetz's Obituary
Walter E. Deetz, age 85, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on April 12, 1931 in Bremen, Indiana to the late Elmer J. and Hilda (Metcalf) Deetz. Walter was a veteran serving with the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954 during the Korean Conflict. He spent his career as a supervisor with Bell South Telephone Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 69 in Avon Park and VFW Post 4300 in Sebring. He enjoyed playing pool, euchre and fishing. Walter is survived by his wife, Marjorie Deetz-Sebring, FL; son, Ted Deetz-Okeechobee, FL; daughters, Regina Trapani (Tony)-Summerfield, FL; Claudia Kinnett (Clay)-New Trenton, IN and Jan Deetz-Pompano Beach, FL; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Esther Miller. There will be a funeral service on Thursday, April 28, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring with Wanda Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place immediately following the service on Thursday at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, Florida.
