Ruby Stamback's Obituary
Ruby M. Stamback, 90, of Live Oak, FL (formerly of Sebring, FL) passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL.
Ruby was born September 17, 1922 in Arcanum, Ohio to John and Opal Arnold. She graduated in 1943 from the Miami Valley School of Nursing and was a nurse for 20 years. She then went to Wright State University in Dayton, OH, and graduated in 1969 with a degree in elementary education. She taught special needs children until her retirement in 1984. Upon retirement, she and husband, “Dick” moved to Sebring, FL where she enjoyed volunteering, sewing, and cooking. In 2006, she moved to Live Oak to live with her daughter.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents John and Opal Arnold, her husband of 54 years John R. “Dick” Stamback, her brother and sister-in-law Norman (Catherine) Arnold of Troy, OH, her brother Lester Arnold of Louisville, KY, and her sister-n-law Willa Stamback of Phillipsburg, OH.
She is survived by her daughter Sally Stamback (Christopher Moring) of Live Oak, FL; one niece: Suzanne (Bruce) Scranton of Troy, OH; three nephews: Phil (Christine) Arnold of Keystone Heights, FL, Jeff (Sandy) Arnold of Nashua, NH, and Jonathan Arnold of Louisville, KY; sister-in-law Lorena Arnold of Louisville KY; brother-in-law William Stamback of Phillipsburg, OH; and special family friends Janet Rice of Tampa, FL and Barbara and Jim Mattingly of Reno, NV.
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 12, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL, in our Chapel.
