Ovidio Acevedo, 81, Avon Park, FL. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 8, 2012 under the loving care of his family at his residence in Avon Park, FL. Mr. Acevedo was a Former School Superintendant in Puerto Rico and was a member of the Association of Retired Teachers in Puerto Rico. He was a member of the Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church in Avon Park, FL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Esther “Santy” Acevedo of Avon Park, FL.; a daughter: Diana Acevedo of Avon Park, FL.; 2 brothers: Pedro Acevedo and Gregory Acevedo both of San Sebastian, Puerto Rico; a sister: Antonia Acevedo of San Sebastian, Puerto Rico; 2 grandchildren: Christian Phillix Cardoza of Orlando, FL., and Valerie Dee Acevedo of Avon Park, FL.; many nieces and Nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 1701 Orlando Drive, Avon Park, FL. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 11:00am till the hour of service at the church. Burial to follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens Cemetery in Avon Park, FL.
