Orzanibal Roqoue's Obituary
Orzanibal “Orza” Roque of Sebring, FL, passed away early Saturday morning on September 30.She was 96 years young. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on May 10, 1921. Grandma is survived by her son in law, Jack O. Dunham Jr., 8 grandchildren, John T. Lorino, Anthony Lorino, Gina (Scott) Hitt, Joseph Lorino, Tina (Bayani) Dia, Emilia (Gary) Roberts, Charles Roque, and Cory Roque. 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ismael Roque Sr., her son, Charles Roque, her daughter, Ivette Lorino Dunham and her parents, Rosa Ramos Centeno and Denacio Carreno. Our grandmother was a caregiver and homemaker by trade. She took pride in being a wonderful seamstress, making many clothes for her and her great-grandchildren throughout the years. Grandma worked for the United States Army in 1941 mending uniforms for soldiers during the war. She also was a fantastic cook and baker; we never left her house hungry or skinny. Our grandmother spent most of her retirement years caring for others, whether it be grandchildren or family members that became ill. As her grandchildren got older, she proudly shared wonderful family stories and taught all of us how to play cards! She shared her “secret” recipes with us and always gave us lots of advice. She loved her family more than anything and she loved baseball, The Dodgers! Grandma lived a long and happy life. She always believed that laughter was the secret to her longevity. She lived by the principle Live, Laugh, Love. Everyone that met Grandma instantly loved her; she had an infectious laugh and wonderful sense of humor. Grandma “Mama” will be greatly missed but will forever live on in our hearts and with the stories we share. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 8 at Stephenson Nelson Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 pm, with the service beginning at 2:00 pm.
