James Spurgeon Click, Jr, [93], of Riverview, FL went to be with his Lord and Savior in Riverview, FL on December 20, 2023
He was born March 19, 1930, to James Spurgeon Click, Sr. and Pansy Reed Click in Ft. Myers, FL. James (Jimmy) attended Moore Haven High School prior to studying for the ministry at Atlanta Christian College, Atlanta, GA.
He met the love of his life, Mildred Louise White, while both attending college and were soon married in 1952. They were married 62 years, raising four children, and serving the Lord faithfully together until her death.
James began his ministry while still attending Atlanta Christian College travelling on weekends to surrounding churches. Upon graduation he served passionately and faithfully in ministry in Georgia, Virginia, Florida, and South Carolina. His 62 years of ministry included building programs in Glen Lynn, VA, Jacksonville, FL, Dunedin, FL, Clermont FL, and Avon Park, Fl.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred White Click, and son, James S. Click III. He is survived by daughter, Carole Click Tyree (Terry), son, Jeffrey Wayne Click (Cathy), daughter, Karen Click Greene (Larry), 15 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
James will always be remembered for his love for the Lord and family, his years of service to young and old, his appreciation for living, and his sense of humor.
A Chapel service will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Avon Park, Fl on Friday, December 29th at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lake Aurora Christian Camp & Retreat Center would be greatly appreciated.
