Mr. Harry R. Douberley's Obituary
Harry R. Douberley, age 97, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013, in Sebring, Florida, due to natural causes. Mr. Douberley was born in High Springs, Florida, to Sam J. and Mattie (Gilbert) Douberley. He was a mechanic for Florida Power for 28 years and he loved to hunt and fish. He was a lifelong Baptist, a member of the First Baptist Church of Sebring, and a resident of Avon Park. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, served in the Pacific Theater, and was honored as being one of the first names to be inscribed on the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. He is survived by his sons Tommy Ross Doub-erley (Alice) of Sebastian, Florida, Randal Wayne Douberley (Peggy) of Sebring, Florida, and James Kenneth Douberley (Kim) of Avon Park, Florida; daughter Janet Douberley Cannady of Sebring, Florida; sister Pat Walker of Lakeland, Florida; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Mr. Douberley was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Dolly A. Douberley. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 17, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, Florida, with memorial services at 2:30 p.m. with Dr. Danny Strickland officiating.
