Edna J. Copeland's Obituary
Edna Juanita Barfield Copeland, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Perry Hospital in Perry, Gerogia.
Mrs. Coperland was born Jan. 19, 1922, in Worth County, Georgia, to the late Jasper and Ida Kendall Barfield, one of nine children. She was active during World War II building parts to be sent for the war. She met and married the love of her life, Joe Copeland, to whom she was married for 66 years, and she was always a homemaker.
Mrs. Copeland loved the Lord and was an active member of Second Memorial Baptist Church in Perry, Georgia. She will be missed by many loved ones and dear friends.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Mrs. Copeland are her children, Benita Gay (Norman) of Perry, Georgia, Janice Nickerson (Dana) of San Antonio, Texas, and Danny Copeland (Denise) of Sebring, Florida; her grandchildren, Daren Gay, Chad Gay, and Amber Copeland; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe; and her eight siblings.
A graveside service will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Avon Park at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 where she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, with Pastor George Hall officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 1120 Morningside Drive, Perry, GA 31069.
