Daniel L. Sherman's Obituary
Daniel L. Sherman, 81, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. Daniel was born on July 2, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Audravean (Combs) and Norman Sherman. Daniel enlisted into the US Navy after graduating high school. He served with honors for 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He then went to work with the US Naval Intelligence Department in Washington D.C. until his second retirement. Daniel moved to the Lake Placid area from Maryland in 1993. Daniel enjoyed bowling, square dancing, fishing, singing, and boating on the local lakes. He was fortunate to have been invited to sing at Radio City Music Hall. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of many years, Nellie, daughter Diane Kay and son Jeffery Scott Sherman. Daniel was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church, 500 Kent Avenue in Lake Placid, where a service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 21, 2018 with Pastor Melanie Fierbaugh officiating.
