Connie R Rankin's Obituary
Connie Rankin, age 83, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. She was born on May 24, 1932 in Berea, Kentucky to the late Laurence and Mary Hazel (Ogg) Robinson. She moved to Sebring in 1966 and taught English at Sebring High School for 25 years. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Wendell Robinson of Louisville, KY. She is survived by her sister, Wilma Gene Shannon of Lexington, KY as well as two daughters, Karen Carrico (Terry) of Richmond, KY, Mary Rankin-Atlanta, GA and a son, David Rankin (Gini) of Tavares, FL. She was very proud of her two grandchildren, Andrew Rankin of Camp Lejeune, NC and Emily Carrico of Columbia, SC. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, November 20, 2015 in the Royal Palms room at Inn on the Lakes, 3101 Golfview Dr., Sebring, FL 33870. She would be humbled by a gathering of her many friends, fellow teachers and students. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a modest contribution be made in Connie’s honor to the Scholarship Fund of Sebring High School, c/o Natalie Grubb, 3514 Kenilworth Blvd., Sebring, FL 33870.
