Mrs. Bertha Clarice DeLaney's Obituary
Delaney, Bertha Clarice, 94, of Avon Park, FL, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013. She was born on June 4, 1919 in Rootville, GA to Grover Cleve and Eva Lois (Shiflett) Thompson. She was a Homemaker, member of First Baptist Church of Avon Park, and has been a resident since 1946, coming from Punta Gorda, FL.
She is survived by her Daughter – Tura DeLaney Reese (Benjamin) of Clearwater, FL; Son – Edgar DeLaney of Englewood, FL; Sisters – Ina Collins of Moultrie, GA; Thelma Baker of Norman Park, GA; Margaret McDaniel of Adele, GA; Faye Sanders of Albany, GA; Brother – Billy Thompson of Moultrie, GA; Grandchildren – Adam DeLaney, Brian DeLaney, Kristen Towery, Whitney Veras; Great Grandchildren – Larissa DeLaney, Chase DeLaney, Cois DeLaney, Thomas DeLaney, Hayden Veras, and Madeline Veras.
She was preceded in death by her Husband – C.L. “Jack” DeLaney.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Avon Park with Rev. Jon Beck officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Hope. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Avon Park.
