Bernice Irene Meek's Obituary
Bernice Irene Meek, age 93, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in Sebring Florida. She was born on September 1, 1922 in Lodi, Ohio to the late John A and Marcia (Vanderhoef) Rowe. In 1972 she moved to Naples where she worked as a nurse until retirement. She moved to Sebring in 2003 and was a Pink Lady at Florida Hospital. She enjoyed volunteering as a docent for the CCC Museum. She loved reading, music, crafts, sewing, pets, gardening, biking and traveling. Bernice is survived by her children, Ron (Joan) Wandel-MI; Steve Wandel-NY; Gary (Dana) Wandel-VA; Bonnie Wandel (Rob) Wall-SC, step-daughter, Sara Jean Meek (Philip) Parsons-CA, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands L.R. Wandel and John Meek, daughter, Patricia Wandel Luttuell and step-daughter, Alice Ann Meek Trapp. There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at Maranatha Baptist Church in Sebring with Pastor Stan Mohr officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL. The family thanks the caregivers from Maranatha Manor, Cornerstone hospice, and the Maranatha community for their loving ministry.
