Angel Luis Calderon, age 88, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on May 25, 1928 in Canovanas, Puerto Rico to the late Jacobo and Eufemia (Cruz) Calderon. Angel proudly served his country with the U.S. Army from 1948-1950. He spent his career with the NYCTA as a bus driver. He moved to Sebring in 1986 and was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana de Avon Park. Angel's life consisted of his God, his family and his church. Angel was dearly loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed. Survivors include his daughter: Diane Calderon (Mickey Lukens)-Avon Park, FL; his son: Angel L. Calderon, Jr. (Elizabeth Gonzalez)-Bradenton, FL; his grandchildren: Mickey Lukens, Angel Calderon, III and Nicole Calderon; his brother: Miguel Fernandez and his sister: Rachel Gonzalez, both of Puerto Rico. Angel was preceded in death by his wife: Esther Calderon. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, February 25, 2017, 9:00 AM, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring with Reverend Johnattan A. Soltero officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL
